Agen to Moissac

On 8th August Bev joined Carmen at Agen.  After spendning a day exploring Agen, in my opinion a much underestimated city by fellow bargees, we watered the barge and headed east.  At Saint-Jean-de-Thurac Bev very much enjoyed eating at the "Poule a velo" restaurant in the old No 33 lockhouse.  At Valence-d'Agen we saw the spectacular sound and light show loosly based on the town's history put on each August by the town's inhabitants.  It involved 380 of the local inhabitants and was performed on the canal banks with the audience of thousands in tiered seats on the right bank.  Quite incredible and very well worth a visit.  The next day we reached Moissac and the following day dropped down onto the river Tarn where we spent the rest of Bev's visit either exploring the town or cruising and mooring "au sauvage" on the Tarn.  Bev was privilidged to see a great deal of wildlife including a red squirel perched on Carmen's mooring ropes eyeing Bev in a very speculative fashion.
Carmen is staying at Moissac for the next two weeks.
